When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem to give birth to Jesus, there was no room for them at the inn. The only place they could find shelter was in a stable, with animals all around. It was a manger that Mary laid Jesus in after giving birth to him. The resting place of Jesus upon His birth is a beautiful demonstration of Jesus’ humility. Even though He is God, He didn’t come to Earth amidst trumpets and glamour. The King of Kings laid humbly in a manger.
