The Bible mentions that there were wise men who travelled a great distance to see Jesus after His birth. The Bible does not specify the number of wise men, although it is often mistakenly thought of as 3. Perhaps a reason for this is because 3 significant gifts were given to Jesus by the wise men. These 3 gifts were staple items to give to honour a king or deity. In addition to the value of the gifts, they each also hold spiritual symbols.
